The investment will be used to open new production lines at an existing factory, creating around 200 jobs, according to the investors. Danone, and investors The Abraaj Group (Abraaj), have added three new production lines to Fan Milk’s factory in Accra, Ghana. The new production lines will create about 200 jobs. The $25m investment will help Fan Milk (Ghana) Ltd, Danone’s local subsidiary, to sustain the demand for dairy products in the West African market.

Danone, together with The Abraaj Group (Abraaj), a leading investor in growth markets, has added three new production lines to its factory in Accra, Ghana. The total investment of USD 25 million will help Fan Milk (Ghana) Ltd, its local subsidiary, to sustain the growing demand for dairy products in the regional West African market. In June this year, Abraaj Group announced the acquisition of a 100 percent stake in Fan Milk through one of its funds. However, the new deal with Danone will see it acquire only 51 percent stake while the dairy maker will get the remaining 49 percent. In the coming years, Danone will gradually acquire controlling stake in the business. Danone, together with the Abraaj Group has invested $25m in Fan Milk (Ghana), adding three new production lines to its factory in Accra.
